Laser Tattoo Removal

Your skin is your story—and that story is allowed to evolve.

At Serenity Beauté, we celebrate self-expression while offering a supportive space for those ready to move forward from past ink.

Our advanced UltraLUX PRO ND:YAG Laser allows us to safely and effectively fade unwanted tattoos over time, giving you the freedom to refresh, refine, or start again with confidence.

How does Laser Tattoo Removal work?

Laser tattoo removal is a collaborative process between advanced technology and your body’s natural healing response.

Our UltraLUX PRO ND:YAG Laser delivers highly concentrated pulses of light energy into the skin, specifically targeting the pigment within the tattoo ink. These rapid pulses cause the ink particles to shatter into much smaller fragments—without damaging the surrounding skin.

Once the ink has been broken down, your body takes over.

Your immune system recognises these tiny ink particles as foreign matter. White blood cells (macrophages) move in to absorb and transport the particles through your lymphatic system—your body’s natural filtration network. Over time, these particles are processed and gradually eliminated from the body through natural pathways such as urine, sweat, and waste.

This is why tattoo removal is a gradual process. Each treatment breaks down more of the ink, and your body continues the clearing process in the weeks that follow.

Every body is different, which means results can vary depending on factors such as overall health, circulation, tattoo age, ink colour, and placement on the body—but ultimately, it’s your body doing the work, and we’re here to support it every step of the way.

Treatment Considerations

With modern laser technology, the risk of scarring is very low. However, it is not zero.
Aftercare is very important

Black is the easiest colour to remove, but some colours can be more resistant

Anaesthetic creams can be used to numb the skin prior to laser treatment. Ice packs work great as well

It is possible to remove or significantly lighten tattoos, but it is not always possible to completely remove them

If you are planning on doing a coverup, talk to your tattooist about which areas we need to focus on.
You may not need the whole tattoo removed

How many treatments are necessary?

It is impossible to accurately predict the number of treatments necessary as it depends on the amount of ink used and how deep the ink was inserted. However as a guide most professional tattoos will require at least six to twelve treatments.

Can all types of tattoos be treated?
It is possible to remove or significantly lighten most tattoos. Black, blue and red tattoos tend to respond well. Aqua, green and yellow tattoos may be more resistant and only partially fade.

White tattoos reflect laser light and therefore do not respond to laser treatment.

What are the costs likely to be?

Treatment costs will vary depending on the size, colour and time required to treat the tattoo. This can be discussed during your initial consultation.

How frequent are the treatments?

Time is required between each treatment to allow the body’s lymphatic system to remove the ink that has been treated by the laser.  A minimum period of six (6) weeks between treatments is recommended. Fading can occur for several months after each treatment.

How long after being tattooed can removal commence?

Removal can commence as soon as the tattoo has completely healed. Although it may appear healed within a week or two the tattoo will still require further time to completely heal prior to removal commencing. A minimum period of 3 months is advised. Your initial consultation can take place at any time during the 3 month period.

Can the area be re-tattooed?

Yes, the area can be re-tattooed following laser removal. Whether you have had complete removal, partial removal or just lightening of the area will be able to be re-tattooed. The wish to replace an existing tattoo is a common reason for having laser tattoo removal.

Will the tattoo completely disappear?

In many cases, there will be a 100% clearance of the tattoo. On average, 95% fading is considered a good result. The result depends upon the colour and type of ink used as well as the depth of penetration of the ink in the skin. Your therapist can discuss with you the likeliness of success during your initial consultation.
