IPL Treatments

(Intense Pulsed Light)

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a non-invasive, advanced treatment technology designed to address a variety of skin concerns while also providing long-term hair reduction. It can be used to treat acne, pigmentation, and vascular conditions such as redness and broken capillaries, as well as support overall skin rejuvenation and tone correction. IPL delivers safe, effective results for clearer, brighter skin and permanent hair reduction over time.

Before Your Treatment: How IPL Works, Your Consultation & Safety

How does IPL work?
During your treatment, your IPL technician will apply a specially designed handpiece to the skin, delivering controlled pulses of light energy. This light is selectively absorbed by specific targets within the skin, such as pigment, blood vessels, or hair follicles.

The light energy is delivered at a high intensity over a very short period of time, allowing it to effectively break down these targets without damaging the surrounding tissue. For skin treatments, this process helps to reduce discolouration and stimulate natural skin rejuvenation, while for hair reduction, it works to disrupt the hair growth cycle for long-term results.

Consultation & Patch Testing
Before commencing any IPL treatment plan, you will undergo a thorough consultation with your IPL technician. During this time, we will discuss your treatment goals, assess your skin concerns, review your medical history, and identify any contraindications to ensure the treatment is safe and suitable for you.

As part of this process, a test patch will be performed to determine your individual treatment parameters and how your skin responds to the light energy. This allows us to tailor your treatment for both safety and optimal results.

Will I need medical clearance?
For vascular, pigmentation, and skin rejuvenation treatments, written medical clearance from a qualified skin specialist is required prior to commencing treatment. This ensures that any lesions or pigmentation in the treatment area have been properly assessed and are safe to treat.

For all IPL treatments, including IPL hair reduction, if you present with any contraindications, you will be referred to your doctor to determine your suitability for treatment. Written medical clearance must be provided before beginning your treatment plan.

IPL Permanent Hair Reduction

IPL Permanent Hair Reduction

IPL permanent hair reduction is a safe, non-invasive, and effective solution for reducing unwanted hair on both the face and body. Treatments are designed to target the hair follicle during its active growth (anagen) phase, gradually reducing hair growth over time while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed.

Most clients require a course of 6–8 treatments to achieve optimal results, with sessions spaced according to the hair growth cycle. As your treatment progresses, hair becomes finer, lighter, and slower to regrow. Once your initial treatment plan is complete, occasional maintenance sessions may be recommended to maintain smooth, long-lasting results—significantly reducing the need for ongoing waxing or shaving

Our Advanced Hair Reduction Technology
At Serenity Beauté, we utilise a combination of advanced technologies to deliver the most effective results for each individual client. Your IPL technician will assess your skin and hair type to determine the most suitable treatment modality for you.

  • SHR (Super Hair Reduction): A gradual heating method that delivers energy in multiple passes, making it ideal for stronger, thicker hair such as legs, underarms, male stomach and chest. It allows for comfortable treatments while effectively targeting dense hair growth.

  • IPL: Delivered using a stamping method, where the IPL handpiece is applied in controlled pulses across the treatment area. This technique allows for greater precision and consistent coverage, effectively targeting the pigment within the hair follicle to disrupt the growth cycle and reduce regrowth over time.

  • Combined RF & IPL: Integrates radiofrequency with light energy to enhance results, allowing for deeper penetration and improved effectiveness, especially for lighter or more resistant hair types.

As your hair becomes finer and its texture changes throughout your treatment journey, your therapist may transition between these modalities to ensure continued effectiveness and optimal results tailored to your progress.
